Everything 80's (Last Friday of Every Month) - Main floor
Dominion (Every Saturday) - Main floor
DJ Ron Medina
first started DJing in 1989 at the age of 17. He began,
spinning various forms of underground house music. He
diligently honed his craft using only vinyl records. Back
then, beat matching and blending was not an option, it was a
necessity. In the early nineties, he began to include techno
and industrial into his repertoire. During those years, he
organized dozens of extremely successful warehouse parties.
These "traveling nightclubs" were able to combine different
genres of music and people into one unique entertaining
experience.
In 1991, Ron had the opportunity to check out a club in Newark
called "QXT's,” where he quickly became a regular patron.
Word eventually got around about his DJ'ing, and he was
offered a guest spot in 1993. The manager, Javier, was so
impressed that he offered Ron several more guest spots in
the following months. In 1997, the resident QXT's DJ decided
to call it quits. Javier tracked down Ron after several
months and offered him the Resident DJ spot for Friday
nights. The night quickly gained popularity and soon had a
good crowd attending every week. The music being played was
mostly 80's new wave with some goth and industrial. A few
months later, QXT's expanded to include Saturday nights as a
weekly party with DJ Paulo manning the decks on the main
floor. With the growing success of the nights, the club
owners decided to expand further, and they opened the gates
to the lower level on Saturdays to bring a whole new
dimension to QXT’s. The new DJ's downstairs were Ben and
Scott (now known as Dysfunction and Helix). After several
months, a decision was made to switch Ron to Saturday
nights, where the music would be a little darker and more
scene oriented. At the same time a new promoter, Damian
Plague, was hired to help spread the word about the new
night. QXT's quickly jumped to the forefront of the goth\industrial
nightclub scene due to mixture of great music, a supportive
and knowledgeable crowd, and the incredible atmosphere that
QXT’s created.
At present, Ron is still spinning every Saturday on the main
floor playing a mix of EBM, industrial, synthpop, 80's and
everything in between. He also teams up with DJ Ash on the
last Friday of every month for the Everything 80's party,
which caters more to 80’s, Rock, Freestyle, New Wave and Pop
music of the decade.
Ron is also the in-house live sound engineer for the
electronic bands that perform at the club.
DJ Dysfunction
Area 51 (Every Weekend) - Downstairs
DJ Dysfunction started off back in 1996 as a radio DJ at Montclair State University. He had the pleasure of bringing goth/industrial music to the local airwaves with his weekly program, "The Continuum." Not long after, in the summer of 1998, he and co-host, DJ Helix, began DJing a weekly goth/industrial night in QXT's lower level. Since then, the club has evolved into what is currently the longest running goth/industrial event in the NY/NJ area.
As his time at QXT's went on, he eventually found himself in the role of promoter, helping to organize, book, and promote various events. Meanwhile, Dysfunction could be found guest DJing at other events, such as Batcave, Evilution, and Zenwarp.
After a brief hiatus from working at QXT's, DJ Dysfunction has returned to the DJ roster and promotional staff. Dysfunction can now be found every week downstairs in Area 51, spinning a variety of hard electronic music.

Every Friday and Saturday - In the Crypt
DJ Mindsolvent started his dj
career in the mid to late 90's spinning gigs and guest spots at
clubs like Pipeline and Aldos. A couple of demo tapes widely
circulated in the tristate area led to his big break with a dual
residency at New York City's legendary Bank nightclub which was
a mecca for gothic industrial music in the 90's. His DJ sets
with his then partner, DJ Cyn, in the industrial/electro room at
the Bank were considered to be groundbreaking as many new bands
and styles of EBM were introduced there which paved the way for
their popularity with dancefloors in every alternative danceclub
in New York/New Jersey. As the Bank closed its doors in late
1999, a new chapter was opened for DJ Mindsolvent at New
Jersey's famous QXT's nightclub. His diversity is reflected in
the clubs atmosphere of cutting edge
electronic/industrial/alternative playlists. For the past seven
years his residency at QXT's has played host to a wide variety
of bands including Accessory, Grendel, SITD, Aslan Faction,
Noisex, Cruxshadows, and many others.

House DJ
Crypt styles: Goth, New Wave, Punk/Ska,
Synthpop, Industrial, Indie
Bio:
DJ Cub began spinning in 1990 at Atlantic City Community
College's on-campus radio station (WACC), where he played an
eclectic mix of industrial, dance and metal. He was appointed
music director a short time later. in 1992, he also began
interning at Stockton State College's FM station (91.7 WLFR,
Pomona) on various shows, then started his own, "The Lunatic
Fringe," where he could again mix all his favorite genres
together. As his interest in electronic music grew, he combined
his show with another with another DJ, and for six hours every
Monday night, they explored the relationship between industrial
and other styles of dance music, including techno, EBM and
synthpop. In 1994, he began spinning at Reds in Margate, N.J.,
on Saturday nights, an "alternative" dance club catering to the
local college crowd that was known for its new wave nights.
Within months, Cub had helped transform Saturdays there into
South Jersey's only regular goth/industrial night, featuring a
harder edge; more goth, dark wave, indie and album-oriented new
wave selections ; and a continued focus on new electronic music.
After moving to the NYC area in 1996, Cub spun guest spots at a
number of venues, but primarily focused on his role as
keyboardist and guitarist of My Psychotic Motor (who played
lineups with Rammstein, Spahn Ranch, C-Tec, and Croc Shop) for a
number of years. In 2004, he began spinning at QXT's as a guest
DJ in Area 51. In 2005, he became a resident DJ at Korova Milk
Bar in NYC for Electric Dreams, yet another Monday night gig of
electronic music, and continued to guest DJ at QXT's, both in
Area 51 and on the main floor at special events, like the
Blacklight Party. He became a resident DJ at QXT's early in
2006, taking his place in The Crypt, where he now spins new
wave, dark wave, industrial classics, goth, punk, synthpop,
electro, indie and 90's alternative.
